This past weekend I had the pleasure of learning from two of the most talented and knowledgeable food bloggers/stylists/wonder-women ever. Eva from Adventures in Cooking and Carey from Reclaiming Provincial generously hosted a food photography and styling workshop in Upstate New York that a small group of us were able to attend. Admittedly, I was really nervous before going since I only started my blog five short months ago and I still feel so new to all of this...also meeting new people gives me anxiety. But everyone was so open and friendly that my fears were quickly quelled. I met so many amazing people, learned so much, and ate until I thought I would burst.
We stayed at this crazy gorgeous renovated barn at the top of a hill, only accessible through a small gravel road. At one point I wasn't sure if my little compact rental car was going to make it all the way up, it was so steep and bumpy. We also could not have made the trip at a better time, the colors of the changing seasons were so vibrant that sometimes the scenery looked absolutely unreal, more like a painting than real life.
Besides spending time shooting, styling, and eating, we made a trek to a round barn farmer's market nearby, took some photos, walked around, and bought some local foodstuffs. Successful weekend if I do say so myself. Hopefully you'll notice my food photography getting better after this. Yes, yes?!
In other news, my kitchen has been unusually quiet since I've been gone, however I have no doubt that tornado Summer will come roaring through tomorrow. I'll be back with recipes soon!
